Portacool™ Hazardous Location

The Portacool Hazardous Location™ 270 is designed to cool areas where airborne gas or debris is potentially combustible. All electrical components are sealed and spark resistant, making them intrinsically safe. The housing is built with rugged molded polyethylene plastic for absolute protection from corrosion or rust and is equipped with sealed switches, cords, motor and pump to prevent sparking.

This unit comes with 8″ solid non-metallic caster wheels and ball bearings for easy movement and is built with exact specifications for facilities that require hazardous location equipment. Workers in petrochemical refineries, offshore/onshore oil facilities, chemical production areas, fuel depots, fertilizer plants and other HAZMAT environments stay comfortable, increasing worker productivity while keeping the workplace completely safe.

The rugged ETL hazardous location 115V, Class 1, Div 2, Groups C & D certified single speed fan motor produces 22,500 CFM air delivery at 20 MPH to cool up to 5,625 sq.ft. areas 20° F. or more! The ETL hazardous location 115V, Class 1, Div 2, Groups C & D pump disperses the water from the 65 gallon capacity internal reservoir throughout the 6 resin treated corrugated KUUL evaporative media cooling pads for maximum cooling efficiency even in high humid areas.

This unit is supplied with a 50 ft. power cord with no plug so that each user has a choice of plug variations. The water supply is obtained by either simply connecting a standard 3/4″ garden hose to the unit regulated by a float valve inside the internal reservoir or by choosing to fill the reservoir manually. The 48″ fan blades are made of polypropylene on a nylon hub to prevent rust or corrosion.

Operational cost is only pennies per day, a fraction of the cost of standard air-conditioning, and is environmentally friendly since the cooling is accomplished naturally through the process of evaporation without the use of refrigerants. A large 2″ drain allows for easy and effective cleaning and maintenance. No assembly is required.
